Huge Back to School event at the North Cape Goodwill on Saturday, July 23rd. We have been saving backpacks, school shoes, uniforms, youth books and school supplies so we can have them easily available for our shoppers for a one-day Back to School shopping event at Goodwill. North Cape is just one store participating in the Back to School event. The other stores are: Del Prado, Challenger, Lehigh, Plantation/Daniels, Island Park, Clewiston, Port Charlotte, Kings Highway & Towne Centre in Napels.

At the same time, a college professor, Joshua Chamberlain, led his troops into battle at Little Round Top at the Battle of Gettysburg. Join Program Manager, Holly Shaffer, for this digital discussion. Holly was a volunteer docent at the Joshua Chamberlain Museum in Brunswick, Maine, before becoming a Program Manager at the Estates.

Although yoga has been around for more than 5,000 years, it has become increasingly popular during the past decade. Aside from the health benefits, it offers a deeper connection to our inner self, nature and to the community. This one-hour yoga class allows you to step away from all the 21st century gadgets and focus on the moment.

 

All skill levels are welcome. This class is taught by Bonnie D'Angelo, a certified yoga instructor. Bonnie started her journey as a yoga teacher to further support her own spiritual growth. She is RYT200 certified with Yoga Alliance and working toward RYT300. She is certified in Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 and will continue the path towards Master and Energy Worker.

 

Tickets can be purchased online at edisonford.org or at the ticket counter. Bring a yoga mat, water, and a towel. Admission to the site is not included.

Juneteenth Celebration at Edison Mall 6/19/2022 12:00 Noon – 6/19/2022 3:00 PM

Join us for a special tea with "Mina Edison" and "Dr. Ella Mae Piper" at Edison Mall to celebrate Juneteenth. The two icons will talk about life in Fort Myers during the 1920s. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with these historical figures throughout the presentation. Along the talk, artist Marie Dyer will design a painting that the public can purchase through a silent auction. Proceeds will be donated to local non-profit organizations in the Dunbar community, where Ella Mae Piper spent a lot of time organizing charitable projects.
